Having a stone table delivered to an apartment: lift, stairs and weight
A stone table arrives in several pieces, but each one is heavy. A few measurements taken in advance avoid unpleasant surprises on delivery day.
How much does a travertine table weigh?

By lift
The tabletop travels upright, on its edge. For a 180 cm table, you therefore need a lift car at least 185 to 190 cm high, and above all a door that is tall enough : it is often the door that blocks. The width of the door matters little, since the tabletop passes on its edge (2 or 3 cm). Also check the maximum load displayed in the lift car: the tabletop and the delivery team ride up together.
By the stairs
On a straight staircase, two to four delivery staff carry the tabletop up without particular difficulty. A winding or very narrow staircase can prevent a large tabletop from passing: in that case, a furniture hoist through the window is the solution, on quote.
What we ask you before making your table
- photos of the building entrance, the staircase and the landing;
- the interior dimensions of the lift, and the height and width of its door;
- the floor, and whether there are steps before the lift.
